Has really been a while since the last update. Think I need to update stuff more often instead of just doing it as and when haha.

Updates on the community, well nothing much really changed, everyone's busy and still the same old few players. Only with addition of Edward, and recently saw some newer players playing MB in Bugis on Friday evenings. Think they just play it for casual fun so well . . .

I just got my new job so adjusting and picking up new stuff. Most of the updates and stuff you can head over to round1.sg where we have our local MB community forums there.

The Hisui in both the clips is really good, made the most impression on me, with his mixups and combos. I think he could perform better by blocking more instead of taking so much risk but overall he is good. Lots of stuff which I could pick up from the player.

And mikado arcade just had their daily 2v2 MBAA:CC tourney. As compared this time round the 2v2 ain't that interesting but still worth a watch.

Long forgotten updates . . .

Well, I have not been updating the blog for a LONG LONG time.

We managed to get 2 gatherings together and in both gathering we failed to even take pictures of our players and random stuff as usual. We Singaporean MB players really fail in this aspect lol

The videos of our 2 mini tourney is up at various places which I myself have no clues where too haha. Mistakes aside, both gatherings was a very good experience and the 2nd one a few of us stayed over night at Sugar's / Wilfred's place and continue playing till the next morning.

Well during this time, Joe one of our Satsuki player have went back to Malaysia, and Sevalle our resident HM V-Akiha player have already flown over to Perth for studies and wouldn't be back in a while.

Some of our younger players are heading into the army for their enlistment call ups soon too, Dneo, Chichiboy, Yukarin, their gang of JC students who just graduated.

I am thinking of organising another gathering up for them before they go into army and seeing them before their heads get shaven flat haha.

Even on hamachi netplay, MBAC seems to have grown colder, much fewer players now. I guess everyone is busy with their own commitments or having new games to play. The game is starting to get popular in the US and I am very glad to see it getting revived over there.

On MBAA FT updates, as i posted on round1.sg on our MBAA forum, most probably we would not get to see the game in TKA arcade as the hardware is not going to be Naomi but Ringwide, which is an XP-embedded system that would make a PC port a closer reality than before.

RingWide is made of inexpensive components. Even a new computer built with cheap parts can completely dominate it spec-wise, since it relies on SDRAM along with a recommended graphics card series about three years old and processor that was weak even when it came out.

Arcade Scene Cooling Down . . .

Well part of the purpose for organising the MB tourney is also to gather people of the MB community again and see who are the new guys / gals around. I doubt there is any gals and it is always rare to even see one at all. I understand it is always the same few around but it was better compared to back 1.5 years ago where I was like the only one with David and Reiroy camping the old MBAC machine back at Bugis TKA Virtualand.

As the title goes, the scene is dying down quite a bit, even for more popular ones like Blazblue, partly due to the fact of online play / console. MB, AH2 and Daemon Bride has problems attracting new players due to maybe different mechanics, faster gameplay and lousier graphics haha. Well it is the last quarter of the year and I think most people are busy with their own commitments and stuff (I am also having more commitments now)

Friday nights seems to be the day with the most number of people popping down at the arcade, while Saturday these days are dwindling down alot. People come and go and we make new friends every now and then. I should also organise some form of weekend console gaming every now and then for the guys around my area, provided we have enough people interested haha.

And well HI PEOPLE, I know this blog is not very active for a while due to a lazy community leader of MB, and I am gaming hopping around too much for the past few months with other fighting games like TH 12.3, Vanguard Princess, Blazblue, Arcana Hearts 2.

And while updating, to our new players who are playing MB, please head over to round1.sg and join us there in the forums.

MBAA PS2 Console version has been out for a week already as I post the information here. I believe most people would have gotten their hands on it and busy trying out various stuff. So I decided to get our second MBAA tourney going since our Sugarmilktea is heading overseas (correct information?) and there would be no AH2 tourney for a while and it has been like 3 months since our 1st MBAA tourney.

So I need help in gathering names for the next tourney to see how good the response will be.
The date tentatively would be the 1st Saturday of Sept, 5th or the 2nd Saturday of Sept, 12th. I prefer 5th of Sept myself personally. If we have a good amount of names, then it would definitely be a go. So let's get cracking and hit our contacts, phone books etc and get people to sign up !

I wonder if we can actually make some t-shirts for any MBAA tourney next time ? That is a suggestion i got from Hotshot and some of the guys during the time when they were here in SG.

Well if they want a t-shirt made then cost will go up of course =p

Well it is over, thanks to everyone who came down and gave their support to their tourney. Cheers to our 4 malaysian friends who came down specially for the tourney.

Congrats to Serge, Dneo and Farhan for winning the top 3 for the tourney. Cheers to Ervine who managed to hitch 4th even though he only got to touch MBAA for 1 day.

I will try to upload some pics from the tourney ASAP, will be getting it from Hotshot who is the only one who bought a camera on that day. We need volunteers to bring down their cameras, I don't have one and I asked people on hamachi and only Hotshot responded.

Sugar is getting another AH2 tourney again so in the meantime go train on AH2 first guys, then maybe we see if the schedule and people permits again for me to organise another MB tourney.

I will put up the finalised details and poster once farp is done with it. All details are more or less in their finalised forms except for the competition format which will be Single Elimination.

I discuss this with some of the guys and came up this decision cause if we are really gonna have 29 people in the tourney (some might be bringing more), then this will be the more feasible idea.
Even 2 rounds out of 3 double elimination is still gonna take a long time to finish.

We have 2 guests from Malaysia, which is Powa and Ervine from SGMBAC hamachi channel coming over to view the tourney as well as to join in the fun gathering, so welcome them with open arms guys. \(^^)/

Ervine should be joining in the tourney too, and I will try to persuade Powa too. But as he is a keyboard user for MBAC . . . godly one at that too, I leave it up to him. =P

Just an added piece of information to all you guys. If the turn out is too good on the day itself, I might consider changing it to 3 point match single elimination instead of double.

Reason being is that I doubt you guys wanna stay for 6 hours over and the whole tourney turns out to be a test of endurance instead of skills as one of my friends pointed out to me haha.

Currently as of my last update, tentatively . . . I REPEAT, TENTATIVELY, I've got like 29 names on my list, and that's including me. If anyone gets any of his friends to join, we might hit the perfect number 32.

Most probably the date will be set on 16th of May as of now. Arcadia wise seems to be fine with it. Now i just need to come out with the advertisement poster, rules and regulations and stuff and email to their marketing department.

Need help with a simple poster Sugar !!! Or Farp !!! I got the pics, just need to stick it altogether. =P

AH tourney was a success overall, glad to see so many people came down to both see and play. Got the crowd going, but if we had a proper commentry, it might even draw more people haha. =P

Give some time to kilvear for him to rip out the videos and stuff. Really a huge thanks to him for recording and ripping the videos for us. Did it for both BB and AH tourney already. Really appreciate it alot. I think must treat him to go makan or something already. Also thanks for akane for coming down to assist in the tourney. =)

Organising 1st MBAA tourney in Singapore.

Well here goes nothing. After seeing Kilvear getting thru with the BB tourney and Sugar who also managed to push thru his AH2.5 tourney, I have decided to organise our own 1st MBAA tourney.

Is a little late I know, but I am glad to see that the community has grown much bigger compared to the first time I knew it. So therefore I am organising this tourney up to gather all the players for some funtimes and hopefully get to know others outside from our usual MBAA group.

Tentatively, I have around 16-18 names more or less 80% confirmed that they will be participating. The format will be 1v1, double elimination system. I know some people suggested for a 2v2 tourney instead, but given the amount of people and some of them do not know each other at all, i decided to stick with the 1v1 format for now.

I am hoping to get the tourney going on the 9th or 16th of May, 9th is Vesak day.
More details will be posted once I contact Sugar and Farp to ask on how to approach Arcadia regarding this tourney, hopefully things can be done fast and hassle-free.
